CHIC ON THE BELTLINE

Who would think that these photos were taken on an extremely cold day? No really! It felt like a blizzard was vastly approaching. Although it was a clear sunny day, it was about 38 degrees with a windchill of about -20 degrees. But the photos are HOT, right??!! Thanks to my photographer, Ms. Tangie Renee Jackson! She was able to capture the perfect angles to mask the discomforting weather. This photoshoot, taken on the Beltline in Old Fourth Ward of Atlanta, Georgia, was one of much excitement, fun, laughter, as well as a few somewhat difficult poses! Hence Chic on the Beltline!

About the Outfit

My motivation for this outfit was one of confusion. Although these photos were taken  on a beautiful spring day, the weather was unseasonably cold. My first mind said "bundle up". However, since the photos needed to correlate with the actual season, I had to make a few adjustments (plus my photographer refused to shoot me in what I initially had on). I still dressed for the weather in a sense, but tried to give a chic appeal that could be interchangeable with the seasons at the same time. I decided to wear a lavender sheer wool butterfly sweater that I purchased from Alter'd State around 2012 and black floral-print cuffed shorts from Wet Seal ( I guess you can guess how old these shorts are from where they purchased from). Instead of tall thigh boots, which I started to wear, I opted to go with black faux suede ankle boots that were reasonably priced at $12.99. Great deal, huh? I accessorized this look with a camel colored wool hat with a color striped band that I stumbled across at the thrift store for a whopping $8. I pinned my untwisted twist-out under the hat to give the illusion of a curly side swoop.

My two-toned black/brown earrings were handcrafted by my god-mother and given to me as a gift. I know you're probably wondering about my bracelets. You're probably asking, YcraM all of those bracelets on those little arms? My answer...because I CAN!  The bundle of bracelets that I crammed on each arm were given to me by various people, adding more character to this outfit. Overall, not only was this outfit chic, but it was also very cute, fun, and a little sexy - it all depends on your attitude, as well as your confidence.
